How to use battle items in Empires & Puzzles

If a map or quest level keeps beating you, Battle Items can turn the fight around. The most useful ones for new players are Healing Potions (restore HP), Antidotes (heal your whole team and cure ailments), Mana Potions (charge your Special Skills faster), and attack items like Axe Attack, Bomb Attack, Arrow Attack, and Dragon Attack damage all enemies at once. You can craft most of these in your Forge and you also collect items through normal gameplay.

Battle Items are one-time-use tools you bring into a fight to use when needed. They don't replace a strong hero team, but they fill gaps — extra healing, faster Specials, or burst damage to finish a stubborn boss. Items are more useful in certain situations and it takes some practice to learn when each is the most effective. Here is a quick rundown of the main items you’ll encounter in the early game.

• Stay alive - Minor Healing Potion / Healing Potion / Potent Healing Potion — Each restores HP to one Hero in increasing amounts

• Antidotes / Super Antidotes — Restore HP to all Heroes and cure status ailments. - 

• Revive Scroll — Revives one fallen Hero with some HP. 

• Charge Specials faster - Minor Mana Potion / Mana Potion / Super Mana Potion — Give one Hero mana to fire their Special sooner. 

• Tornado — Gives all Heroes mana and reshuffles the board. 

• Deal extra damage - Axe Attack — Damage to all enemies and lowers their attack for a few turns. Bomb Attack — Damage to all enemies and affects their attack for a few turns. Arrow Attack — Damage to all enemies and makes them less accurate. Dragon Attack — Damage to all enemies plus damage over time. 

• Buff your team (Banners) - Bear Banner — Attack boost for all Heroes. Turtle Banner — Defense boost for all Heroes. Dragon Banner — Attack and defense for all Heroes. 

• Control the enemy - Time Stop — Drains enemy mana and delays their normal attacks.

Items are usually optional in the early provinces, but they become a real difference-maker on tough stages, boss fights and titan attacks, letting a still-developing roster punch above its weight.
