Elena - Finding an Alliance

A good alliance fit shapes both your progression and your enjoyment. This guide walks through how to find one that matches your goals, schedule, and play style.

Why does choosing the right alliance matter so much?

Your alliance is your main engine for Titan loot, Alliance War chests, and alliance-only events, so the right fit directly shapes both your progression and your enjoyment. A good match comes down to activity level, competitiveness, time zone and language, and how much coordination is expected.

When can I join an alliance, and where do I find them?

Alliances unlock at player level 4. Once unlocked, use the in-game "Join an Alliance" screen, where you can browse Suggested Alliances, use "Find Another" to cycle through options, and check the Top Alliances leaderboard for the most competitive groups. From there you either tap Join / Request Join for Open alliances or wait for an invite to Invite-Only ones.

For the more selective players out there, join the official Empires & Puzzles Discord server or other community ones* and go to the alliance recruitment section and start messaging Alliance leaders about your interest in joining. It can take some time but finding the right fitting Alliance can feel like finding your chosen family.

What is the difference between an Open and an Invite-Only alliance?

With Open alliances you can request to join directly; Invite-Only alliances require an existing member to invite you. New players usually start with Open alliances since they are easiest to join, while many established or competitive groups switch to Invite-Only to control their roster.

What do "required trophies" mean, and should I aim high?

Alliances can set a minimum required trophy count, and you cannot join if you are below it. A higher requirement usually signals a more established, competitive group. Pick an alliance whose requirement you can comfortably meet and sustain — reaching far above your level often means you cannot pull your weight on Titans and Wars.

How do I judge an alliance's activity before joining?

Each alliance shows an Activity indicator — the percentage of members recently online. Higher activity is one of the most important signs of a healthy alliance: it means more Titan damage, fuller War teams, and a livelier chat. Treat a low activity percentage as a warning sign.

How do I find one that matches my language and time zone?

Alliances have a preferred Language setting (or "No preference"). Matching language makes coordination far easier. Time zone matters too: Titans appear and Wars run on the alliance's rhythm, so look for a group that is active when you play, even though the game does not filter by time zone directly.

How do I find an alliance that matches my Titan goals?

Titans are the heart of alliance play, so match the alliance's Titan strength to your roster. Keep two rules in mind while shopping around: you must be a member when a Titan appears to earn full loot, and Rare Titans require being in the alliance for a set number of days before you can attack them. Frequent alliance-hopping can cost you Titan rewards.

How do I know if an alliance's War style suits me?

War participation is opt-in/opt-out, and inactivity can automatically opt you out. Decide up front whether you want a group with strict War coordination (set defense teams, tank-color and flag rules) or a casual one where War is optional. But no matter what, when you opt in for war, be sure to use all your attack flags so you don’t leave any points on the table.

Casual vs. competitive: how do I tell which an alliance is, and which I want?

You can read the signals before joining: trophy requirement, Activity percentage, Top Alliances ranking, and the alliance description all hint at how serious a group is. Competitive alliances expect daily Titan hits, full War participation, and often an outside chat app; casual ones are relaxed about all of it. Be honest about how much time you want to commit.

What should I ask before committing to an alliance?

Good questions to raise in chat or look for in the description: expected daily Titan hits, whether War is mandatory, communication norms (in-game vs. external chat), preferred language and active hours, and rules around items like flasks. Clear expectations up front are the best predictor of a lasting fit.

What are the green flags and red flags?

Green flags: a high Activity percentage, an active leader, a clear description and ruleset, and consistent Titan kills. Red flags: low activity, an inactive leader (the game will auto-select a new leader after prolonged leader inactivity), a silent chat, or expectations that do not match yours.

What if it turns out not to be a good fit — how do I switch safely?

You are free to leave and join another alliance, but timing matters: leaving during War preparation or an active War, an ongoing Alliance Quest, a Monster Island event, or before a Titan or Mythic Titan score locks in can forfeit your participation and rewards — even if you rejoin. The safe move is to switch between events and Titans.
